General Laborer (Concrete Laborer)
Entry point to the concrete trade. No experience required, but you have to show up and work.

This is the job most concrete careers start with. You do not need to have touched concrete before. What you need is to be on time at 7am, keep moving, and pay attention to the finishers around you, because that is how laborers become finishers.
Ultimate Concrete Service has been pouring residential and commercial concrete in the Beaver County and Pittsburgh area for more than 25 years. Crews run driveways, sidewalks and steps, patios, stamped decorative work, retaining walls, pool decks, garage floors, and commercial slabs, so the work changes from week to week rather than being the same slab over and over.
What The Work Looks Like
- Site prep: stripping sod, grading, setting subbase, and getting the pad ready to pour
- Setting and stripping forms
- Placing and tying rebar and wire mesh
- Moving concrete during the pour with shovels, rakes, and come-alongs
- Helping the finishers screed and float
- Saw cutting control joints and cleaning up joints and edges
- Washing tools, chutes, and equipment at the end of the day
- Loading and unloading material and keeping the job site organized and safe
What You Need
- 18 or older
- Reliable way to get to the shop or the job site by 7am
- Able to lift and carry material and stay on your feet through a full day outdoors
- Willing to work in heat, cold, and mud, because concrete does not wait for good weather
Helps, But Not Required
- Any construction, landscaping, excavation, or demolition experience
- Comfortable running a skid steer or a mini excavator
- Your own basic hand tools and work boots
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- A valid driver license
