If you can read a slab and know how long you have before it goes off on you, this is the seat we are trying to fill. Concrete finisher and cement mason are the same job under two names, and both get used around here, so apply under whichever one you call yourself.
The work is not only broom-finished driveways. Ultimate Concrete Service runs stamped and decorative concrete, pool decks, garage floors, patios, steps, and commercial slabs, which means the finish package changes job to job and a finisher who can handle stamp and release work gets a lot of that work.
What The Work Looks Like
- Screeding, bull floating, and darbying behind the pour
- Edging, jointing, and cutting clean control joints
- Hand troweling and running a walk-behind or ride-on power trowel
- Broom, exposed aggregate, and smooth finishes
- Stamping, texturing, release, and color work on decorative pours
- Reading grade and pitch so water runs where it is supposed to run
- Calling the pour and directing laborers so the slab gets finished in the window you actually have
- Patching, resurfacing, and concrete repair work
What You Need
- Hands-on concrete finishing experience
- 18 or older
- Reliable way to get to the shop or the job site by 7am
- Able to be on your feet, on your knees, and outdoors through a full day
Helps, But Not Required
- Your own finishing tools
- Stamped and decorative concrete experience
- Formwork and flatwork layout experience
- Comfortable with a laser level and setting grade
- Ability to run a skid steer
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
